The Big Bad Breakup Part 2 (Part 1)

Gravy isn't stupid. He's not oblivious. He's just too nice. And Sandy was getting tired of him and knew they had to split, but didn't wanna be the one to break up with him. Because he knows Gravy didn't actually do anything, and he didn't know how to go about it. Also because he knew he'd come out as more of the bad guy than ever (as if it would change anything.) He doesn't like feeling guilty, so he makes up things in his head to justify his own actions. Sometimes he has no reason. Sometimes he'd use Gravys kindness against him, and use it as an excuse to say that it couldn't have been a big deal if "he wasn't that mad about it anyway." It's a mix of thinking his rep matters and his own ego, and bad influences. He's insecure. Toxic masculinity. He feels bad for Gravy, but not enough to make him want to take any responsibility. Because he just wants this off his back. This isn't the first time Gravy has been too nice to a guy he's in a relationship with, but this is his first time being the one to break up with one. He clearly, as we know, just let's people walk all over him. He knows he deserves better, but he also just never wants to assume someone is just rude or whatever for no reason, it's just how he was raised. "You never know what's going on in people's lives". But some people are just awful, and nobody put as much care and effort into the relationship as much as he did. Never enough to talk that deep. Sandy hurt a lot because it was one of his longer relationships. Anyway, Sandy isn't a crazy supervillain. He's just a shitty guy, literally a bully. And he cannot handle all of that anyway, Gravy. Gravy doesn't need him (and kinda never did.) He works multiple jobs and works himself to the bone, has a passion for charity work, to help those in need. He is more than just a nerd who's easy to push around, he's a good guy all around. He deserves better and it'll come to him eventually.

And god forbid Natsuki finds the tea party (something tells me his natural chaos would manage to do it somehow)!!! He would literally crash it with happiness and enthusiasm and sparkles and rainbows and honestly? Chances are he had just been carrying a batch of self-baked cookies that he just HAS TO SHARE.... let's just say they switch locations after that event, and remain ever vigilant..

Literally the next week Natsuki would have probably appeared again this time with an entire angry-cat-Syo to join the party.

Actually, something tells me Kira would develop a Natsuki sensor. Like, without a word he would get up and walk off to like a back room and leave Masa and Myu (gotta rant about this in a sec hold up) in their confusion before they look out the window and see Natsuki round a corner 5 seconds later and just KNOW he KNOWS. From then on they use the Kira detector as a safety feature, it is very reliable :)

Okay so... I HATE how on point you are about San and Cecil. This should not be allowed. Omg. They would seriously be great buds. They would tune into each other's unique aloofness and work so well. I feel like they wouldn't like, be joined at the hip (like Woo likes to do hahaha) but - much like a real cat-human relationship - be super happy and close with each other when they see each other every so often? Like they are comfortable with the little breaks in between but whenever they are spending time together they are the bestest of buds.

I am soooorrt of a multi stan?? Like I really stan ATEEZ way above all, I don't super follow other groups with every single release etc. But I do know a lot of other groups and listen to soooooooooo many different groups I can't keep track :)

Killing Eve rewatch: “Don’t I Know You?”

Eve’s description of Villanelle to the sketch artist, once again, showcases just how intelligent and observant she is. That whole scene, though, is fraught with tension: we feel as though Eve is sitting right across the table from us, and she’s remembering every single detail she can about a woman who was less than two feet away from her, then proceeded to murder four people. There’s a look in her eye that suggests she’s thinking about how close she and Dom came to being murdered by that woman—the same woman who stared at Eve with an unknown intent, at first, and then told her to wear her hair down in that slightly lilted, flirty way. Eve is both impressed and horrified by this woman, and until the final minutes of the last episode, she never thought she’d come so close to her. And then the tension is broken, rather brilliantly, by the officer’s line, “So is that like a square face or an oval face?” and by Bill’s slight smirk at his too-smart-for-her-own-good partner. That scene is only about a minute long, but I think it perfectly captures the essence of how effective Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s writing is. As the audience, it’s almost like a staring contest with Eve as she so eloquently rattles off everything she can remember about Bathroom Nurse/Potential Assassin, as if she’s daring us to look away from her while she’s doing so; in that moment, Eve is totally in her element. We could brush off her incredibly thorough description by calling it gay, or say she’s thirsty, but honestly, let’s look a little deeper at that moment. Eve was probably (definitely) one of the best, most dedicated students in the whole Criminal Psych department, a Hermione Granger in her own right with a bit of a Slytherin twist. I’ll reference the moment again because it bears remembering: Eve Polastri jammed a knife into her own thigh just to see what a scumbag like Viktor Kedrin felt in his last moments. “Dedication” may as well be her maiden name, are we really surprised she was able to remember Bathroom Nurse’s face/body in vivid detail for a forty-five second encounter?

THE KILL: I personally think Villanelle enjoyed this job the most. Her target literally signed a waiver allowing her to do whatever she wanted to him, and he offered himself to her like a sacrificial lamb. She strapped him down, stripped him of all mobility and agency over his own body, and played with him a little. When it came time to turn on the gas, she made sure she had an uninterrupted view of the life draining from his eyes—which she mentioned to Jerome during the assessment after the Bulgaria kill. Based on her behavior after the Tuscany and Paris kills, I’d go so far as to say that that is her favorite part of her job. She gets to play God, she has all the power, and she gets to watch her handiwork take effect. During Zhang’s murder, she instructs him repeatedly to “Look at me. Look at me” so she can see his life ooze out of him. I think the control aspect of her job is what’s so intoxicating to her, and the power that comes from being in total control, which I would venture to say she had neither of in her childhood: power nor control. Now that she’s older and she’s obviously been trained to do this, she has control. Always. And using Eve’s name at the desk? Yet another way of asserting her dominance and broadcasting her utter control, boasting “I know your name, but you don’t know mine.” 

After Carolyn breaks that bit of news to Eve, we’re treated to another moment of her hilariously deadpan humor: 

Carolyn: “Do you smoke?” 

Eve: “Uh, no.” 

Carolyn: “Shame. Now would be good.” 

No normal human being—and especially not one as intelligent as Carolyn Martens, I mean you don’t get put in charge of the Russia Desk just for being ethereal—would ever think of suggesting that a colleague should start smoking to relieve stress. Carolyn’s like that one friend or relative we all seem to have, don’t we, the one whose jokes never quite land in the right way, and their brand of humor is such that you’re never really sure if they’re serious or not. She’s nowhere near as relatable as Eve, and I honestly would rank Villanelle above her in terms of relatability to the average layperson. I literally don’t recall her smiling for more than a moment, and only as a polite, cursory gesture to show that she’s human. Villanelle, however, smiles. She grins, she laughs, she plays pranks on Konstantin, she gets joy from dumping ice cream on small children. Whether her smiles are just human behaviors she’s mimicking or not, I’m uncertain, but some of them appear to be genuine. Others, however, are absolutely purely instrumental as a way to get what she wants. 

This is yet another “I can’t believe it took me five fucking watches to catch” moment, but it’s a very interesting one. Obviously, Villanelle has very little (if any) remorse for anything she’s done, and she clearly doesn’t feel emotions the way most of the population does, but something about the suitcase scene isn’t sitting right with me. Once she’s stolen Eve’s suitcase and is inspecting it in her hotel room, she appears to have some genuine reactions to its contents. Firstly, her face is painted with confusion and a bit of disgust when she sees Eve’s clothing. She audibly scoffs as she looks through it, a noise which I took to mean “why are you wearing these awfully frumpy, shabby clothes that hide your body?” And then she finds the tube of Canesten™️ ointment which I, being an American, had to google because we do not have that brand here. (I literally had to pause the frame and flip my laptop upside down to get a clear view of it and read the packaging lol, turns out it’s just British Monistat) But as she holds the box up, she says “Poor baby.” Yes, the tone is slightly mocking, but generally that’s a phrase meant to indicate compassion—something I wouldn’t expect a hired gun to have. When Konstantin comes out of the bathroom and interrogates her, she asks him, “Have you been to the Jewish Museum?” and calls it “Massively poignant.” The tone she used indicated she was being serious, but I found myself laughing in disbelief: why would someone like her, with no moral compass whatsoever, care about what’s on display at the Jewish Museum? All of these things lead me to think that maybe she isn’t a complete psychopath/ sociopath, that at one point in her life she could feel things “normally,” and then something happened to her. (I can’t wait to find out what that is, we only got to hear about her late teenage years in season one)

The scene in the dress shop is so unsettling and a little impressive to me, but mostly unsettling. Villanelle took her time, watched Eve from her perfect vantage point in the shop without Eve seeing her, and left her the exact size belt she needed to complete the outfit. She knew what size Eve needed, and she knew it would look damn good on her, and watched Eve put it on with a self-satisfied smile. I think the smile comes from a place of genuinely enjoying to watch Eve see herself as Villanelle does: the beautiful, feminine woman with a rockin’ bod underneath the dowdy, shapeless clothing she normally favors. It’s only just now occurring to me that Eve probably hasn’t worn a dress that form-fitting in years; even the dress that Villanelle pulled out of her suitcase and gave to Pamela looked to be more loose and swishy, and with a drop waist that doesn’t really accentuate curves. Perhaps that’s why when Niko assures her that she’ll look gorgeous, she says “Yeah, I doubt that.” Eve’s probably so used to wearing more traditionally functional, masculine clothing that the word “gorgeous” isn’t something she’d associate with herself, which legit broke my heart a bit. 

SPEAKING OF HEARTBREAK...ugh, Bill’s murder. Part of me gets it, like I do understand why she did it: he was a threat to her, and she had to neutralize the threat. But also, as I was watching it I found myself thinking, “Bill...you’ve got no weapon, you’re a low-level security officer for fuck’s sake! Why would you go after someone you think is that dangerous if you aren’t armed? Realistically, what are you going to do once you catch up with her??? Have a nice chat about her intentions?” I think the club scene, train station scene, and the shop scene are the perfect illustration of just how deeply arrogant Villanelle is. Not only was she following Eve and Bill, but she ran into him outside the store, and allowed him to see her face! I’m not a spy or an assassin, but I’m pretty sure that rule number one of being inconspicuous is to keep your goddamn distance! And then in the railway station, Bill watched as she started to follow Eve to the train dressed in Eve’s stolen scarf! (Sidebar: I would have called Eve right then and told her that a young woman with honey-blonde hair was wearing a let's be honest a hideous ass scarf just like the one you lost in your suitcase, it seems too weird to be a coincidence?? I guess that’s just me though?) Finally, the club. Villanelle doesn’t really seem like a club person, bearing in mind that her musical tastes seem to be in national anthems and classical music. But clubs are noisy, crowded, and dark, and the people who are there are distracted by something. It’s the most convenient place to commit murder in a pinch when you’re being followed, and Bill was lured straight into her trap. She knew he would follow her, so she seized her moment and god was it chilling to see her smile like that, knowing full well who he was and what he meant to Eve. But oh no, this episode is the heartbreaker that keeps on breaking: Eve’s horrified, frenzied scream when she sees her best friend dying came from Sandra Oh’s soul, and that sound is honestly haunting. I felt Eve’s pain as she realized that she could do nothing to save her best friend and partner of 10 years, and that she’s the reason he’s dead. If she hadn’t insisted he come to Berlin with her, because of his fluent German and his connections, he’d still be alive. Worst of all, none of it would have happened if Eve hadn’t been so obsessed with this new, flashy murderess. If Eve was determined to catch her before, avenging Bill’s death has only strengthened and solidified her obsession with this psychopath. 

Random observations: 

-Because I’m a curious piece of shit, I went and looked up what Zhang’s safeword meant. It’s the German word “frühstück,” and holy shit I was not prepared for what it means. Go on, have a guess. I’ll tell you: “breakfast.” The Chinese military’s most expert hacker not only has a fetish for being operated on and testicular torsion, but his safeword...is fucking breakfast. I had tears streaming down my face laughing at the ridiculousness of it, oh my god.  

-Can we PLEASE address Eve and Niko’s pet hen?!!!! What is her name?! I need to know! But she's got to be a recent addition to the Polastri household, because Eve was shook af to learn that hens lay out of their arseholes. (No, I can’t bring myself to address Eve making Niko say ‘arsehole’ three separate times because ugh) ANYWAY To me, this begs the question: who the fuck bought/adopted the chicken? I’m inclined to say Eve, because she’s impulsive (and slightly unhinged let’s not lie) and she knows that Niko will take care of it, just as I imagine he takes care of almost everything else around the house. 

-”Your actions are your own. What are you going to do?” God, Carolyn has some of the best lines of this series. This line hits hard, because sometimes it’s so easy not to claim agency over your choices because responsibility bites, but she put it so succinctly that it’s hard to ignore.

-Even on my first watch, I knew, I fucking knew that Bill bouncing his baby and babbling about how “daddy’s going to die, isn’t he?” was foreshadowing and it STILL. HURTS. WITH. EVERY. REWATCH. 

-THE SEDUCTION SCENE, WOW. How is Villanelle sooo creepy and twisted but also so likable?! But honestly what kinda Big Dick Energy is Villanelle working with to persuade a woman to actively cheat on her husband and engage in “biblical roleplay” (bruh she was so down to call Villanelle “Adam,” lmao), and thEN COME BACK FOR MORE THE NEXT DAY?! And Pamela was SOOO quick to ask “are those for me?” about Eve’s clothes, like...wow.  

-It’s honest to god a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, but in this episode we learn that Niko is a maths teacher, which like...fuck’s sakes man, could you be more boring? But it honestly doesn’t surprise me. I don’t think Nikolas Polastri is capable of being anything but boring, stable, dependable, and nice. Like that’s it. (Also Eve was ready and willing to have sex with him and he just like walked away?? With Sandra Oh as your wife? Unappreciative) He’s not a bad man, he’s actually quite a lovely and loving man but...damn he’s dull. 

-But ya know who’s not dull and actively desiring Eve Polastri when her husband isn’t? VILLANELLE. Still a little weirded out that she just sat there and watched and waited for Eve to show up at the crime scene??

-Hi, Phoebe,  I need a two episode flashback (Keiko would be telling it unfortunately, RIP ol pal) of Bill and Weber’s adventures in Charlottenberg??? pls and thank 

-”I don’t even think about her!” Villanelle says, wearing her scarf, having fucked a woman who had the slightest passing resemblance to her, and called her Eve, and THEN had sex with her AGAIN and had her wear Eve’s actual clothes. But NO, you’re not thinking about her...

-Damn, I love Bill. Like he’s a new father at age 61 but for 5/8 years he lived in Germany he “said yes to everything,” and he shamelessly explained kinks to the Chinese attaché like it was common knowledge. Plus he SO tries to call Eve’s bullshit ass lie when he asks if she's ever fancied women. "No, not in that way.” “Oh really? Not even ones with delicate features, sort of cat-like eyes that are totally inaccessible???”

-Ooh, fun fact: when Bill is trailing Villanelle through the streets of Berlin and trying to call Eve, he says they’re going through an area called Cassiopeia. In Greek mythology, Cassiopeia is known as the vain queen, shackled upside down to her throne in the sky for all eternity because of her vanity. Cassiopeia was renowned for her beauty, but also for her vanity and arrogance; perhaps, like the vain queen, arrogance will be Villanelle’s downfall, too.

hoooo boy….. This is a long post….

First and foremost, basic philosophy. My man Aristotle, his Teacher, Plato. And of course the very verbose, Socrates. Those guys not only shaped western thinking, but with that, shaped science and the scientific method… speaking of PASCAL, my man, scientist, philosopher, even stayed religious, Pascal’s wager. mm mm mm. IMMANUEL KANT that guy just took the Golden Rule and extrapolated it to cover a lot of bases, quite a bit of HEGAL he was a horrible writer, but had a lot of good input on wisdom/history and our own understanding of ourselves and human nature. LEARNING FROM IDEAS YOU EMOTIONALLY DISLIKE. I really relate to him. (here is a really good summary of his views)  Twilight Zone, Star Trek (TOS). I watched a lot of old, cheesy, cerebral Sci-Fi with morals to the story. THE LORD OF THE RINGS, Tolkien’s philosophies are so interesting; his short story “Leaf by Niggle” really resonates with me. Also a lot of world war ii documentaries went into my childhood as well; in fact history channel was great, before it became reality TV. So an understanding of diverse historical causes and effects really shapes the way I view the world. Humor-wise, Monty Python shaped me from the age of 4 onward. so i am a tad odd and see things differently

2.     have you ever found a writer whothinks just like you? if so, who?

As you go through college, and start working you have less time to read… well when I spend my free time drawing and playing video games, that doesn’t help. One book that reflected my thoughts was The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Basically, if you really want something and focus on getting it, the universe will conspire to help you achieve that goal. You just can’t get distracted and give up. I know it sounds kinda like hippie-dippie mumbo-jumbo, but just being optimistic and resolute got me through a lot of stuff.

Lord of the Rings: Some days I’m Gandalf, some days I’m Pippin ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Legend of Zelda: Can’t really think of a character like me.

Star Trek: Some days I’m Spock, some days I’m McCoy

Kuroshitsuji: In general, I think it is healthy not to find Manga/Anime characters too relatable. Their personalities can be annoyingly exaggerated. A bit of Ciel I suppose… idk

Ghibli: Ursula from Kiki’s Delivery Service. The self-confidant lady artist that lives in the woods with a bunch of crows (my silly dream). Her art wasn’t really that good but she was cool. Sounds like me.

Human doing. I am always painfully aware of it. I believe you are the actions you choose to do. OR choose not to do. I get a little too caught up in thinking rather than taking action.

None really. I never took to time to even learn band member names haha

Outdoors. I like being in nature with other people or alone. But when I am indoors, I prefer to be alone… kinda weird.

No. Never have loved easily. It is a painfully slow build up for me. I really have to understand the person’s character over time before I let myself love them on any level. But I those I do eventually love stay loved. And my old good friends stay good friends in my mind.

What do you think about your own ship from a canonical perspective?

So why Yasuo and Graves?

Okay so, first I don’t think ‘because they canonically don’t interact’ or ‘because they are far apart from each other’ is a valid excuse to rule out a ship from working in canon. I’m not saying I believe it will become canon, either - we are talking ‘possibility’.

For example, no one expected a young mage from Shurima travelling to Ionia to learn from Yasuo himself but here we are yeah?

Okay so, with that in mind - the reason why I think it works so well is because they have similar perspectives and complementary personalities. I have already mentioned briefly some of those, but to put it shortly, both characters could relate and find solace in one another mostly because they have both experienced being ruined by someone else - Graves with TF, Yasuo with (most likely) Riven. Graves walked the path of revenge before Burning Tides. He wanted to kill Fate no matter the cost. His wishes were selfish. Yasuo however, walks the path of justice - it comes down to killing his Elder’s murderer but not for himself. He has nothing to gain out of that personally, but he does it because he wants to make things right.

So while both Yasuo and Graves have similar paths, they don’t see eye to eye on everything and that can create interesting conflict. Graves has a short fuse - Yasuo also had a short fuse but hes learned to overcome this nature to an extent. Yasuo and Graves are both independent men - they go around and do what they deem right to them. They both have bad habits they cling to that help them get by.

That’s all in a personal perspective - on a physical perspective I think they are just gorgeous together. Contrastant colors, Graves makes more for the brute type while Yasuo is lean and has cool colors to his attire. But ofc, that goes beyond your question so I’ll stop around here. So, yes in a canon scenario I think they would work very well together. Graves might be on the criminal side, and initially I thought that would rule him out as a possible ship but he isn’t a bad guy… so I don’t think that would matter much to Yasuo. I think he would definitely make a move to help Graves out of that but he can definitely understand necessity and he even says virtue is no more than a luxury. There are somethings Yasuo won’t tolerate ofc but Graves is overall neutral at worst. He isnt bad… he just does what he does to get by.

On a sidenote and to make this clear - some people will say this happened because of mchanzo, mostly because it started after mchanzo but, truth be told I happened to ship this way before mchanzo was even a thing. Back then though, I didn’t find a Graves I could roleplay it with and I also wasn’t too hyped about it because I wasnt expecting too much out of it because it wasn’t a popular Yasuo ship. Mchanzo is Overwatch’s biggest ship right now, or at least that I know of and hearing its so valid and appreciated over there made me think about it because… its a very similar ship. East meets West, cowboy and samurai, and that gave me strength to be actually proud of it and make me realize its valid. If you asked back then I would say I didnt have an OTP for Yasuo but now I do and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Thanks for the question bud. A lot of people ask me about other ships and I’m not too comfortable with that, and I sometimes wonder why don’t I have questions pertaining my own so… I appreciate it a lot :)

Why is Fabeer leaving? Did she do something wrong? She didn’t think so... But then again, she didn’t seem to know anything as she reached after her jadeblooded friend, who seemed, now, so bloody far out of reach. 

Why did he forget about her?

Like all small trolls she still had a sense of playfulness and naivety that just couldn’t really be matched. So she dreamed. And those dreams pushed her forward. They drove her. She was blue enough to fool the Caste system and avoid being a subjuggulator. Or worse, a laughsassin. She was able to dabble more in the art of crafting. To mold and work. 

She had a knack for balancing things, a gift she enjoyed using.

Why was she remembering this of all things? It hurt... It h u r t...

It showed the most, her weird balancing act, not in her clothes or hair, but in what she made. It made her a rather decent cook, but it also made her rather good with sword making. Or weapons in general. She was able-because of her lusus habit of vomiting up old, half digested metal--to stretch and bend things till they were of perfect weight and grace. Of course, it wasn’t something she was born with, but something she got from being a bored troll trying to survive when everything was trying to kill her.

Make it stop, she can’t--doesn’t--shouldn’t remember! But like an unforgiving host, her mind kept the memory playing. Like an old broken down video. Maybe scratchy in a few parts, warped with time and feelings.

It jumps to when she was just under two and a half sweeps...

One day, she stood in a line of ten trolls, all being told they were the best of the best. The trolls who were young and with the most potential for greatness, stars among the other children. All were to be trained by the best blacksmith Alternia has ever seen or will ever see. At least, to her current knowledge. 

She was so happy she could scream. But Yiingy knows better now. She wished she had listened to her warning when she could.

Beside her were the next generation of Blacksmiths and craftmen’s. And she felt a little awkward, and even a little scared, among this group. She was the only girl... Was she being stupid? Maybe this was a mistake... Surely there was another boy that would take her spot! She felt so-- 

Then she leaned forward, about to abscond, when she saw him. He was different then all the rest to. And it made her step back in line and smile with pride. This was okay! She was okay! If a jadeblood can do it why not a girl? So she smiles even more so, cheeks hurting, as she listens to the Overseer. He started breaking them up into pairs, and to her silent wishing being granted, soon she was met with the tall jadeblood in front of her and waving down. With an overly enthusiastic smile, she giggles. 

She should have ran with him. Her heart clenched. 

“My name is’th’s Yiingy Nichan! What’s’th’s yours’th’s?” 

Unlike her, he was shy and more resigned, but that was okay. She liked him a lot! 

“Smith Fabeer.” Was his only reply. Too this day that’s all she has. Too this day... She regrets not following.

She always yapped the poor jadebloods ear off, her lisp sometimes getting outta control, no matter how much she hated it. He always seemed to smile at it, so she didn’t feel the need to hide it as much. He made her feel safe and happy. Even when everyone else was giving them dirty looks.

Misfits. Freaks. Outcasts.

They had heard it all, but it never hurt them. They had each other. And to her that is what was important. Sure she had her moirail and her weird... Maybe kismesis to entertain her and make her happy, but none of them made her feel as... Normal as Fabeer did.

She regrets calling him a liar.  Why would he lie? She was blinded by trust.... How...

P i t i f u l.

It skips again, to just before her third wriggling day. She was excited! She was one of the best in the whole group! Along with Fabeer. These two outcasts made themselves a name. And over time, over the half a sweep of knowing him, he had opened up. He was a loud and sweet and smiley guy. Maybe a little hesitant, but all in all a guy she would take with her to a slumber party to cuddle with.

He was a teddy bear, pure and simple. And he was her best fucking friend.

It was that night though he told her he was leaving. Yiingy was confused, so very very confused. They had just started proving they deserve to be here just as much as everyone else, why is he leaving? Does he... Not care anymore? 

“You’re lying.”  He’s not. “Overs’th’seer wouldn’t do that!” Yes he will. “Fabeer s’th’stop being a s’th’silly and get ins’th’side!” He doesn’t.

She cried herself to sleep that night. And woke up to the blistering, boiling pain in her shoulder as what she was warned of happens.

She was branded. And she was trapped.  And she wished for nothing more then to hug her jadeblooded Teddy bear close. 

But that was to never happen again.

Korrasami and Sexuality (Long, but maybe read it? It might be worth your time :D )

So lately, I've been seeing a lot of accusatory bi-erasure posts cropping up in the Korrasami tag, primarily because much of the fandom refers to Korra and Asami as a "lesbian couple".

These bi-erasure posts have been popping up for a long while now, starting when the ship was pushed from crack to valid, and many of them have been rebutted with posts commenting on the character's sexuality either being open to interpretation, or being changeable as in the case, for example, of a "straight" person changing their sexual label because they realize they are no longer just attracted to the other gender, or because they are attracted to the opposite gender, both generic genders, all genders or identities, no sexual attraction, etc.

So I've been thinking about it, and I'm going to throw my two cents in.

Is sexuality open to change? And what defines it?

Yes, of course it is! Mine did. I went from being straight as a stick (or rather, rejecting my feelings for ladies), to being bisexual. Sexuality can change, but more than likely, the reason your sexuality changes is because you've been masquerading yourself as a purely straight person in an attempt to scare the gay away.

There are, of course, cases of people who slowly ebb away from heterosexuality. People who gradually go from straight, to bi, to gay/lesbian. So yes, sexuality can and does change, and there can be a myriad of reasons for it.

More often than not, I've discovered, purely heterosexual and homosexual people are baffled by bisexuality or pansexuality. I've gotten funky looks for being a bisexual, and while I usually blow them off, it does leave a sour feeling behind.

You would honestly think that homosexual people don't have the same latent fear and misconception that bi's cheat (and I say bi's because pan's are often swept under the rug), but actually, the propensity for homosexuals to believes that bisexuals have uncontrollable sexual urges is the same as heterosexuals. The preconceived notion that bisexuals (once again, a statement excluding pans because they are often ignored by the general public) are merely confused about their sexuality is often as popular among homosexuals as it is among heterosexuals.

It's weird right? We're lumped together, into this unnecessarily long acronym (there's a new one on the rise, but I've forgotten it) , and yet and again, even among ourselves, there's discrimination.    

What's best to keep in mind with bisexual and pansexual people is that our attraction to a certain gender identity/biological sex can vary.

With bisexuals, some of us are very strongly attracted to men, and weakly (but noticeably enough) attracted to women. For others its the opposite. For some like me, it's hard to choose one to be "more" attracted to. We just simply like both.

For pansexuals, things can get even more complicated, as they are far more inclusive of the people that they are attracted to. Pan people cover all gender identities plus sexualities, which are actually two very separate categories. It gets complicated in the pan boat.

For just heterosexual and homosexual people, these concepts can be unbelievable, confusing, and complicated. 

It's not surprising bi-erasure exists, and not surprising that pansexuals are just often plain out blanked. Both these sexualities are far more complex than either of their extreme counterparts (pan more so than bi), and that can cause discord. For many gays and straights, its hard to believe you can like anything more than 1.

Before I move one, I want you to consider the confusion that many trans people or gender fluid people or agender people might have. Adding sexuality to the mix of gender can produce a very daunting topic, and I want you all to keep that in mind as you hopefully continue reading.

Sexuality, therefore, has a very broad definition, and (I don't think I have to emphasize it, but I will anyway), is influenced by biological gender, gender identities, and varying levels of sexual attraction. Each effects the other, but, at the same time, each can be considered unconnected topics. 

Korra's Sexuality

Korra's feelings for Mako are very strongly highlighted throughout all of season 1. Had the Legend of Korra ended at season 1 like originally intended, Korra would have undoubtedly been labeled heterosexual.

For all of season one, we see Korra fawning over Mako. She blushes various times when interacting with him, and get's flustered in his presence on more than one occasion. We can see her behavior throughout book 1 as an indicator of strong heterosexual feelings.

Book 2 screwed around with their romance a lot, but both were still portrayed as have a powerful attraction to one another, albeit being incompatible personality wise. Korra willingly forgets the earlier break up (before she temporarily loses her memory), implying her feelings for Mako were presently intense.

These interactions can culminate into implied heterosexual feelings on Korra part. 

So, what's the if factor here?   

We never see Korra show attraction to any other male character in the series. We can't be sure that Korra was really attracted to Mako in the first place, since Bryke ended their relationship, and as of late, is seems like a pretty definite end.

EDIT: Correction. Korra does go out with Bolin, for part of an episode. But that episode is ultimately trumped by her feelings for Mako, and therefore, it can be implied that she never really had feelings for Bolin anyway. Bolin was just a quick, temporary fix to a frustrated attraction problem. 

My interpretation,however, is that she is bisexual. Perhaps she has a lower attraction to men than women. Maybe she's at an equilibrium. We really don't know, because we also have no idea how strong her attraction to women is either. 

But, because our only evidence so far as been her staggering affection for Mako, I would then say (if she got into a relationship with Asami, EDIT: or showed sexual attraction to the lady gender, which I believe she has) she's bisexual.

Asami's Sexuality

Asami, I think, is far more ambigious, and far more open to interpretation.

Even though she gets into a relationship with Mako, their relationship never really seems real (to me, I don't know about you guys). It feels more like a facade. More like, she chooses Mako to save face; the relationship never went skin deep.

It could easily be interpreted that, as the daughter of a rich and influential individual in Republic City, Asami chose to date Mako to cover up her own homosexuality. That's actually not a very far fetched statement.

We never really see her blush when it comes to Mako, though she does temporarily pine after him, like Korra does for most of season 1. That is, in season 2, when in need of some emotional (and likely physical) comfort Asami turns to Mako.

Now, my interpretation here is, she doesn't really do it so much because she is attracted to him, but because her desire for human comfort and companionship is so strong. After all, we never really see Asami blush or get flustered when in Mako's presence (like Korra does). Instead, she keeps her cool, and can at times, seem disinterested. Even after their break up, there is very little awkwardice between the two; Asami easily moves on and sexual tension seems not existent. In fact, all the estrangement comes from Mako. But Asami, she's more like, "been-there-done-that". Her interest in him actually doesn't seem to be very strong.

Her butthurt over Mako's relationship betrayal, I believe, stems more from the emotional abandonment than the sexuality factor. Asami is, in essence, replicating her father's abandonment of herself and pasting it onto Mako. She's inserting the emotional pain of being left behind into her relationship with Mako, where Mako, like her father, once again abandons her when she likely needs him most.

So, do I believe that Asami could very well be a closeted lesbian? Yes, yes I do. It matches her behavior outstandingly, and just seems to make sense.

Of course, the above two sexuality speculations are just that; speculation. None of what I'm saying is "confirmed". It's just me theorizing. 

But is it still Bi-erasure?

It could be, but its circumstantial. We can never actually know, when you line everything up, if Korra and Asami for sure have feelings for men. We can strongly speculate on Korra's side that she does harbor sexual attraction towards men, and therefore, could be bisexual. But I think with Asami, it is FAR more ambiguous.

Gender roles and physical discrimination play a role in our speculations: Korra seems more boyish, more "butch", and so many people would quickly jump to label her a lesbian. Asami's more girly and more sexually enticing, so it's easier to say she's bisexual. Trust me when I say these stereotypes are so far off from the truth of lesbians and female bisexuals. It's laughable. 

I also want you to all keep in mind, this is coming from a bisexual person. Do I get upset with bi-erasure? Hella yeah. But is this bi-erasure? Hella confused. 

Like I wrote, and I'll repeat it, its circumstantial. Neither one of these girls were given enough love interests of a singular gender to prove their preference for one gender over the other. Therefore, unless Bryke decides to intervene and blatantly tell us, we can only speculate what sexuality either women is.

So, uh, Dishonored robot AU anyone?

I'd love to read an AU where there's this elusive and rumoured-to-be immortal/not human inventor called 'the Outsider' who is absolutely brilliant but very antisocial and secretive because he just can't stand how boring all the dumb plebeians around him are (and maybe he hates how they're all so greedy and shortsighted and cruel). So he hides away. And builds these magnificent robots, so human you can't actually tell the difference until they start using their abilities (teleportation, infrared vision, telekinesis, etc). And for shits and giggles the Outsider just releases them into society, without any orders or purpose just to see what happens. Oh and he doesn't tell them about his other robots, just that they exist and well off you go now bye. So Daud and Corvo and Delilah and Granny Rags are all left alone in a society where they are outsiders, abandoned by their master and without a purpose, and that's just the story. Them just being themselves, but robots.  

Basically the Marked are robots and the Outsider's still a troll. 

So Granny Rags may be the 'first' of the proper robots, and she thinks she's not good enough and not interesting enough and she just wants to see her master again. And then he sends her a telepathic message or something, along the lines of "lol I made like seven others bye naow" and she decides that if she kills all the others then she would be the best and her master would love her again. But she has no way of knowing who they are, so she just settles for murdering and eating random people and doing rituals (actually setting up message terminals or something) in order to to contact the Outsider.

Daud is a pissy I-hate-you-deadbeat-dad sort of robot. He knows what he is, and he knows that he'll never be human. But he's got all these superhuman abilities and shit, so you know what, he decides to become a hired killer. Because why not. But deep down he actually wants company of his own kind so he starts implanting bits of Outsider tech into humans making them cyborgs and making them have sorta robot abilities, and he builds a small army of Whalers and denies that he ever searched out all the slightly-defunct communications terminals around the Isles trying to contact the Outsider.

Delilah was another crazy one. She has the power to create and tap into virtual worlds, and can possess people through brain hacking or something. I mean this is fiction here brain hacking can be a thing. She decides that the reason why she was created and the Outsider is hiding is because humans are shit and she is perfection. So she also does Daud's cyborg thing, but she does it because she thinks humans need to be 'fixed'. And because she is superior to all humans, she should be in charge, so she tries to possess Emily (she's not a combat model like Daud).

Finally, Corvo. Corvo's the newest. Corvo decided to just ignore the fact that he's a robot, and try to live as a human - the way he sees it, he just has superhuman abilities, it's not like he has to use them. And the Outsider left anyway, so who cares. So he lives a pretty normal life, avoiding Overseers and whatever and basically blending in until something happens and the plot is kickstarted. 

Sokolov is still an unwanted fanboy. The Runes are these chips that help unlock new abilities, which were all programmed but because trollsider likes surprises. Bone charms are accessories that enhance abilities. And the Outsider is always watching, and the robots know this - they're just not sure if he's paying attention. Besides this really explains the whole food=health thing.

Rambles into the dawning light.

But ladies man. I will admit, its been over a year since my last real relationship and I wouldnt say Im too sad about that but its kinda weird to have noone to think about when romantic songs start playing after a long time of either being in a relationship or pining after a lady. Im not under any illusion as to why I dont have a ladyfriend, I just dont get out enough to really meet many ladies and eh, I dont care much. Even if I were to go to bars and stuff I cant fuckin remember how to flirt, if I ever really learned in the first place. My 3 year highschool relationship was really nice and I had alot of fun but it left me without much experience attempting to woo. So its fair to say even if I ran into a lady who would give me the time of day Im not sure I know how to be flirtatious (barring I could get over my own bloody hang-ups). Though, hey, Im fairly intelligent (and maybe Ive got a bit of charm, Im not sure) so I could probably wing it if I actually got into some kinda situation. Oh well, not exactly a pressing problem. I have had one lady express a physical interest in me, shame shes got a boyfriend. And of course if we were to get jiggy with it Im sure Ill have to quiet a slew of thoughts worrying about whether shes getting what she wants/needs. Thats really all I care about, Im so easy to take care of (too easy, Id prolly need to make sure I had taken care of myself early so I could at least try to have some endurance) my goals in a sexual experience are making my partner feel as good as possible. And with my fairly average equipment Im sure Ill need my mouth and fingers to get the job done. Man, thatd be so nice. Hmm. I think thats about as much thought vomit I can get typed down.
